Other ways to monetize you blog is by promoting other peoples products (Affiliate Marketing) or to create and sell your own digital or physical products using your blog as the marketing vehicle of such products. You can also use your blog to promote services you offer, much like a business website.

Whilst both Blogger.com and WordPress.com are 100% Free to use and easy to maintain, they do have several disadvantages as opposed to a Self-Hosted Platform. Do your homework and decide for yourself which option would suit you better, but I strongly recommend going with the Self-Hosted option from the outset.
The self-hosted option will require that you register your own domain name and that you purchase a web-hosting plan, but the advantages you have over the FREE options are numerous…

It can take some time to establish a blog, but the income potential is huge. Some bloggers are making millions from their blogs, whilst other are barely covering their costs. Your earnings will vary based on traffic (visitors) you get to the blog, and how interesting your content is. To make serious money you need to take this seriously and you need to learn the various skills involved in making your blog a success. The flowing all play an important role in your blogs success:
- How often you post content
- What you posts about & how relevant it is
- The types of advertisements you put on your blog & where you place them
- What products you promote and are they relevant to your readers
